Bamboo is an incredible, sustainable material that holds a wide range of applications. Gone are the days where bamboo products are limited to the production of paper products in Asia — modern, eco-friendly manufacturing techniques mean bamboo pulp can now produce yarn and fabric. This is where SheetsTheBed comes in.
SheetsTheBed’s specialty is producing green products for your little ones. We know how important it is to provide babies with products that are friendly to sensitive skin, and we’re passionate about meeting this goal.
Bamboo means No Pesticides!
Bamboo contains an antimicrobial agent known as bamboo-kun which provides the plant natural resistance to pest and fungi infestation, and means the plant does not require fertiliser to grow. In real terms? Your products aren’t treated with pesticides or herbicides.
Shop Bamboo, Shop Green
Bamboo is a green alternative to other textile fabrics, favouring sustainability over consumption. How?
Bamboo can grow to its full height in just eight to ten weeks and, as a grass, the plant will regenerate after being cut. This makes it an ideal alternative to other raw materials used for textile products. as bamboo cultivation mitigates erosion and will not result in deforestation.
Australia’s per capita CO
2 emissions are among the highest in the world. Bamboo emits 35% more oxygen than similar trees, and just one hectare of bamboo can sequester 62 tonnes of carbon dioxide.
Don’t trust us on this alone – we will also plant one tree in bushfire affected communities in Australia for every product sold.
Bamboo is biodegradable
As a cellulose based textile product, bamboo is biodegradable in soil. When our products reach their end of life, they can be composted and disposed of in an environmentally conscious manner.
